At a glance: Agra to Vrindavan
An Agra departure can work for a focused Vrindavan visit, provided the first temple and return arrangements are settled in advance. Start with the road comparison, then replace both city pins with your actual pickup and destination. The shortest listed distance is not automatically the quickest journey on your date.
- The checked car options measured 70.0 km via NH 19 and NH 44, 73.7 km via NH 44, and 75.0 km via Manpur–Sauj Road and Yamuna Expressway.
- Allow roughly two hours initially for the road transfer, then add breaks, the final approach and the visit itself. This is editorial planning, not a promised arrival time.
- If you visit the Taj Mahal first, account for leaving the monument and collecting your group. Keep Mathura as an explicit extra stop, and confirm where the driver will collect you after darshan.
Agra to Vrindavan is about 70–75 km by the car routes checked between the city pins. Choose the actual temple or hotel before booking: arriving in Vrindavan town and reaching a darshan queue are different stages. This guide compares the roads and helps you fit the journey around a realistic visit.
What is the Agra to Vrindavan distance by road?
The displayed Agra-to-Vrindavan car routes measured 70.0–75.0 km. The comparison joins city pins rather than a particular Agra hotel and Vrindavan temple. Use it to understand the alternatives, then request fresh directions for your real addresses. Road choice and the final town approach can both change the total.
The Google Maps Driving check on 30 October 2026 displayed these alternatives:
| Displayed road option | Distance |
|---|---|
| Manpur–Sauj Road / Yamuna Expressway | 75.0 km |
| NH 44 | 73.7 km |
| NH 19 and NH 44 | 70.0 km |
The 75 km option was marked for tolls. At the time of the check it had the lowest displayed travel time, despite being longer than the 70 km option. That is a useful reason to compare live road conditions rather than choosing by kilometres alone.
About two hours is a starting road allowance for planning, with extra time for your actual pickup, a comfort break and the approach to the agreed drop. It does not include temple visits. Ask a driver to quote those same endpoints before comparing prices; a city transfer and a retained sightseeing car cover different work.
Where should your Vrindavan transfer finish?
End the booking at the place you genuinely want to reach, with a workable drop-off agreed beforehand. A Vrindavan city pin does not establish temple-door access or a darshan time. Name the first attraction, check its current visitor instructions and agree how everyone will complete the approach after leaving the car.
For a first visit, choose one main temple before adding anything else. Our Prem Mandir guide helps with that particular destination; it should not be used as a timetable for another temple. If Banke Bihari is your priority, check that temple’s own arrangements rather than assuming every Vrindavan visit follows one schedule.
A family travelling with children or older relatives should settle the practical details while still in Agra. Where will bags stay? Is the last approach manageable for everyone? Where will you meet the vehicle afterwards? These questions are more useful than asking whether a generic package “covers Vrindavan.”
Keep the driver’s collection point in a saved message, alongside the attraction name and a contact number. Agree whether waiting is included, how extra waiting is charged and what happens if the group finishes later. This makes the return easier without making unrealistic promises about queues.
Can you combine the Taj Mahal and Vrindavan in one day?
A combined day needs separate time for the Agra visit, departure and Vrindavan darshan. It can suit a focused itinerary, but adding every major Braj town makes the plan fragile. Choose which visit matters most, confirm its opening arrangements and work backwards from the time you must finish or return.
The official Taj Mahal guidance says general viewing is closed on Fridays. For other days, allow time to leave the monument area, reunite the group and reach the vehicle. A road estimate begins when the transfer actually starts, not when your monument visit is scheduled to end.
If Mathura is also important, add it as a named visit with its own time allowance. The Agra to Mathura guide explains that separate arrival; Mathura is not a substitute for Vrindavan. A direct route calculation does not include a stop simply because the towns are nearby.
For an unhurried first visit, our guide to why Vrindavan is worth visiting can help you select a priority. Before confirming the day, record pickup, first attraction, optional stop and final drop. Leave one optional visit removable so that a delay does not disrupt the whole journey.
Choose your first temple before choosing a package; its actual visit window should anchor the day.

For the opposite journey, the Vrindavan to Agra guide compares city and Taj Mahal destinations and shows a worked departure plan.
Frequently asked questions
How many kilometres is Agra to Vrindavan?
The checked city-to-city car alternatives measured 70.0–75.0 km. Your hotel and temple addresses may produce a different distance.
Is the shortest road always fastest?
No. The 75 km route had a lower displayed travel time than the 70 km route during this check. Compare current conditions before leaving.
How much time should I keep for the drive?
Around two hours is an initial editorial allowance. Add pickup time, breaks, the final approach and separate time for darshan.
Can I go after visiting the Taj Mahal?
Plan both visits separately and confirm the temple window. Taj Mahal general viewing is closed on Fridays; do not build a Friday plan around it.
Does an Agra to Vrindavan taxi include Mathura?
Only if agreed. Give the operator your full stop list, waiting requirements and final drop before accepting a quote.
